Representing Agent: Craig Latto
Roles: Presenter, Actor, Comedian
Des Clarke is one of the UK's most exciting performers. He has made a name for himself as both a highly successful comedian and one of television and radio's hottest presenters.

He is a much-loved voice on the airwaves and can be heard waking up central Scotland every morning as host of the Capital Breakfast Show. He also hosts BBC Radio Scotland's weekly panel show Breaking the News, which takes a satirical look at the week's headlines. Des regularly provides the laughs on ... Makes You Laugh Out Loud, Channel 5's hugely successful comedy show.

His radio work has earned him widespread industry recognition, winning a British Radio Award and receiving nominations in both the Arqiva and Sony Awards. He recently helmed the radio series Schemes and Dreams, where he interviewed celebrities about their roots, and his new weekly 6 part comedy series, Des Clarke Exposed, was a hit on BBC Radio Scotland.

Over the years he has interviewed some of the showbiz world’s biggest names including Rihanna, Robbie Williams, Britney Spears, One Direction and Katy Perry.

It all began for Des when he won a nationwide search to host the iconic Saturday morning show SM:TV Live. This weekly two hour broadcast showcased his abilities both as a comedian and presenter, including character sketches, celebrity interviews and comic monologues.

That led to an impressive TV career with presenting credits ranging from the STV Appeal, Invention SOS, Club Cupid and Sportsround to his breakthrough into prime time television as anchor of BBC Scotland’s Children in Need.

Des performed live to over a quarter of a million people during the 11 days of the Commonwealth Games and hosted the live Closing Ceremony to a global TV audience of 1 billion viewers. This year he will be performing live to thousands of people again, providing entertainment and commentary at both the Six Nations rugby matches and Scotland Euro 2016 matches.

Stand up comedy remains Des’s first love and he performs his own solo shows annually at the Edinburgh Fringe and Glasgow Comedy Festival. He has toured the world with his unique brand of observational humour, appearing on stage in New York, Dubai, Australia and Los Angeles. Des has also received critical acclaim for his comedy, winning Chortle Best Newcomer and the ITV Golden Mic Award.

Des recently completed his first stand-up tour in five years. The tour was an extended version of Clarke’s hilarious sold-out 25 date run at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe. Titled “The Trouble With Being Des”, the show received critical acclaim and was described as “A solid hour of hilarious homespun comedy” (The Herald) and “genuinely funny" (Broadway Baby). He is very happy to be taking his own show to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016.

A high profile newspaper columnist and after dinner speaker too, Des Clarke has rapidly established himself as an exceptional all round performer.
