||Actor, Comedian, Presenter, Writer
Jessie is a very talented and unique actress / writer and illustrator who was most recently seen as new regular Heather in Sky One's TROLLIED and in CALL THE MIDWIFE Series 5 for BBC 1. She is most known for playing Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter series.
Jessie's first book of illustrations, LOVESICK, was published by Ebury this summer, after the massive success of her daily online doodles about love, which she has been posting for over 5 years.
Ebury publisher Jake Lingwood said about Jessie’s doodles
“They're maybe what you'd get if you forced David Shrigley and Modern Toss under pain of death to draw the Love Is cartoons. There's a wonderful healthy cynicism running through the whole project and, frankly, they just make you laugh out loud. This is a cult thing and Jessie has become an instant heroine among the younger members of the Ebury team." She is now working on her first Greeting Cards range with CardMix and planning her second book, a pregnancy doodle diary, for release in 2017.
On the writing side, Jessie has scripted projects in development with Kudos and E4 and she co-wrote the pilot BUMP with Rick Edwards under Big Talk Productions. Jessie was selected in 2016 as one of the 'Soho Six', a group of writers under commission for a year in residence with the Soho Theatre, to create new work for the stage.
Her YouTube channel Pindippy, is frequently updated with her comedy sketches and short films.
Jessie is extremely prolific and regularly collaborates with fellow young writer/performers. Her most recent web series CHOP LOGIC, about her relationship with her boyfriend stand-up comedian Alfie Brown, has a cult following, and is in development for Channel 4 Blaps.
As a stand-up, Jessie had two sell-out runs of her 2012 Edinburgh show BOOKWORM at the Soho Theatre and three sell-out runs at the Soho Theatre with her second solo show I LOVED HER, which was critically acclaimed at the Edinburgh Fringe festival 2015.
‘A unique comic talent. Think Lena Dunham’s Girls but with far more self deprecation and jokes.’
‘A disarmingly honest set….vivid, emotionally naked comedy.’
‘A glorious mix of honesty and naivety, clever and silly, sweet and dark.’
‘Jessie Cave holds her audience in the palm of her nervous hand. The one that isn’t holding an iPhone. Or a baby.’ ThreeWeeks
‘She’s the innocent storyteller who isn’t to be underestimated, and as a comic she’s really starting to blossom.’
‘Cave has created a beautiful one-person romcom for millennials.’
