SUE PERKINS
Representing Agent: Debi Allen
Roles: Presenter, Actor, Comedian, Writer
BIOGRAPHY:
The quick fire, self-depreciating comedy of Sue Perkins has made her a household name and a firm favourite on British television for nearly twenty years. Together with her presenting partner, Mel Giedroyc, she entertained the nation with her unique brand of wit on the popular Light Lunch which ran for five series before transferring to an evening slot with the imaginatively titled, Late Lunch. Together they jumped and shouted their way through countless hours of television, marking the start of a double act that has lasted for nineteen years.

2015 saw Sue at her busiest ever; her memoir Spectacles was released in October, garnering overwhelmingly positive reviews from fans and critics alike. It reached the top spot in The Times paperback non-fiction chart, and has had performed steadily within the top ten.

‘Deftly written and belly-laugh funny’- Express

‘Warm, crisp and beautifully layered- like its author, Spectacles is a complete delight.’-Independent on Sunday

Spectacles had become a fan favourite, so much so Sue embarked on a sold out UK wide book tour in 2016-17.

Sue also presented seven series The Great British Bake Off alongside her presenting partner Mel. It became a national favourite and was frequently the most watched TV show of the year.

After the success of The Mekong River with Sue Perkins, Sue’s second travel documentary also aired. She visited India for the BBC special Kolkata with Sue Perkins, proving to be one of the most sensitive and moving travel shows we have seen in recent years. Later this year the BBC will be releasing Sue’s latest adventure, The Ganges, which will tell the story of developing, modern India through the eyes of the millions living along its banks.

She has continued to develop her own projects after the success of Radio 4’s Dilemma, with new panel show Insert Name Here which debuted in 2016 with a second series airing in 2017.

In 2017 Sue presented Sky 1's The Big Spell, a brand new show seeking Britain's best young speller. Along with sidekick Mel, she also presented Let's Sing and Dance for Comic Relief in which celebrities battled it out for charity.

In 2015 Sue was able to live out her TV presenting fantasies when she was asked to be a part of Thronecast on Sky Atlantic, the popular follow up show to Game of Thrones. She has been able to theorise plots, chat to weekly guests and most importantly, sit in the iron throne.

Over the years, Sue has worked on a wide range of solo projects, including documentaries on art, popular fiction and history. In 2008 she appeared on the BBC show Maestro, which she won, culminating in her conducting at The Last Night of the Proms. She has also collaborated with the food critic, Giles Coren, on a number of programmes including The Supersizers series, where they experienced food from a variety of historical periods, including sow's udder pate, Bovine Bread and Butter Pudding, Duck Tongues and several thousand bottles of wine.

2013 saw the premiere of Sue’s own sitcom Heading Out which aired on BBC 2. Sue starred in, wrote and produced the series as a co-production with her company Square Peg TV and Red Productions. This series followed on Climbed Every Mountain which was Square Peg’s first co-production with Northern Upstart in 2011, where Sue traced the story of the real Von Trapp Family.

Sue has appeared on numerous panel shows including QI, Have I Got News For You and Argumental on TV and The News Quiz and Just a Minute on Radio as well as hosting Dilemma for Radio 4. She has also contributed regularly to News Night Review and The Culture Show.
